We all know this is the time of the year that lots of people start pumping the breaks a bit with the gym and eating habits. Don’t let this be you. Get through this holiday season without taking a few steps back with these 5 simple tips (no one said easy).
- Exercise: This is definitely not the time to lay off the gas. If anything, you might need to increase it a bit more. Let’s face it, you’re probably not going to eat (or drink) the greatest. Burning some extra calories won’t hurt a bit.
- Stay Out Of The Breakroom. Someone will keep bringing the holiday cookies, doughnuts, or other treats. Every time you want to get a coffee, you’ll have to pass the table of goodies. If this is a temptation for you, you might need to bring your own coffee & drinks.
- Stay Out Of The Drive Through Line: This is the time of the season where everyone is selling their holiday drinks. All of the drinks are loaded with sugar, fat, and a boatload of extra calories. Like we recommended above, bring your own coffee
- Increase Your Protein Intake A Bit More: We always preach to increase your protein level but it’s even more important now. You’ll feel less hungrier if your protein intake is high. This will enable you to stay clear from the cookies and holiday treats.
- Stay Away From The Booze During The Week: If you know you’re going to be heading to your company’s party and numerous of family/friend get togethers, you might want to lay off the booze during the week. Don’t try to kid yourself in saying that it’s just wine or light beer. Lots of people can do very well with first four points but struggle with this.
Enjoy the holiday season but try to stay disciplined and stay on the path!
