On a large scale, inflammation in the body is something we want to avoid. The better that we can fight it over the long term, the more our bodies can focus on the good stuff. The body can start putting healthy tissues and organs in jeopardy if we continue to fight inflammation for long periods of time.
Cinnamon is a popular and healthy addition to many foods. It actually offers quite a few benefits that include having anti-inflammatory properties. Cinnamon also has antioxidant properties which also work in conjunction to support the battle against inflammation. The antioxidant effects of cinnamon work to protect our bodies against free radicals, meaning the bad guys that can cause damage in our bodies.
An additional benefit of cinnamon is that it may help with insulin resistance in the body. Insulin resistance is a classic trait of those with Type II Diabetes meaning they are resistant to Insulin and its ability to get blood sugar out of the blood into your cells. In turn, cinnamon can be effective at lowering blood sugar. Try a few teaspoons of cinnamon a day or a few grams if you are supplementing with an actual product instead of adding it to food.
