Training With Intent Part 2

Training with intent is our topic of discussion as we move towards 2022 with new goals, old goals and another chance. Losing weight and getting stronger are two of the most common goals. They are different but both require effort, discipline, consistency and you guessed it, intent.

Losing weight can be a big challenge and whether it is 5 pounds or 50 pounds, every journey is different. It is important for each person to find what they can do consistently that works best for them. We’ve posted blogs on how to find your daily caloric intake, how to track those calories, reading nutrition labels and much more. These are all things that are very important when trying to lose weight. It’s crucial to know where you are, how much you should be eating and what you can eat to meet those numbers each day. If you’re not assessing, you’re just guessing

Training With Intent Part 2

Interference with meeting weight loss goals can stem from:

- Eating too much

- Not eating enough (crazy but true)

- Alcohol consumption

- Lack of sleep

- Stress

- Hormonal Issues

These are just a few of the main things that can interfere with your ability to achieve your weight loss goals. Many of those listed above are 100% within your control. I won’t pretend that certain medical conditions and complications make it very difficult but you can still do everything outside of that to be successful. You know what they say about excuses.

Meal prepping, tracking calories, eating the necessary food and being consistent are all very challenging when starting this journey. This is the truth but you have to make it part of your life. None of this means you can no longer enjoy yourself but this is a lifestyle change, not a temporary intervention. No amount of training will allow you to skirt around this. There has to be purpose, there has to be intent.
