At First Capital Gym, one of our biggest pet peeves is toxic people. These toxic people, that we sometimes refer to as “ass anchors” are people that drag you down and/or keep you away from your goals.
Unfortunately, these people could be your friends, coworkers, or even family.
Here’s Some Ass Anchor Traits:
•They tell you that what you’re doing is wrong or a waste of time
•Complaining for no reason but just to complain
•They want you to feel just a miserable as them
•They try to convince you in to doing something that you don’t want to do (boozing the night before a training session)
•They will fight with people on social media. Imagine having enough time in your life to pick a fight with someone on social media and continue back and forth for sometimes days…..and they don’t time to exercise or meal prep
We also preach that you’re the sum of the 5 people you hang around with the most. If you’re wanting to get into an exercise program and live a healthier lifestyle, we recommend that you start hanging out with people that are doing the same. For you, it could be bringing a friend to the gym. You might already have friends at the gym that you see outside of it. This better because you can hold each other accountable together.
Drop the ass anchors.
