Training With Intent in 2022 Part 1

As we approach the end of 2021 it’s good to reflect on where we’ve been and where we are going in 2022. Did you achieve what you wanted in the last year? Did you have anything to achieve? Goals are hard to achieve when you don’t have any and results are even harder. The good news is that goals and results are related.

It’s important to start with what YOU want to accomplish. Don’t worry about anyone else. The weights they lift, the amount of calories they consume or the intensity with which they work is completely irrelevant. Your goals are yours. They are affected by the things you do.

Start by doing the little things right each day.

Your goals might be centered around weight loss or getting stronger but what are you doing outside of the gym that contributes to your success? You may even have physical goals outside of the gym and that is great.

But, are you….

  • Tracking your calories to fuel yourself properly?
  • Are you getting 7+ hours of quality sleep each night?
  • Drinking enough water?
  •  Finding ways to reduce stress?
  •  Recovering?

Over the next week will be talking about training with intent. An important concept but one that reaches in many directions. Being aware of what we want to achieve is the only logical first step. From there, we can unpack how we approach different goals.
